Super Sleepwalk

(Cubed Cinder)

After changing into her familiar pink pajamas, Serena opened up the nearby window blinds and a smile almost immediately went on her face. There it was… the moon, and it looked a lot closer to Earth than normal. Much like a solar eclipse, the Supermoon was a rare astronomical moment. People on the news all day were saying to enjoy it while it lasts, because it would be many years before the next one showed up.
“Wow… it’s so beautiful.” Serena said.
“Hey, move over! I want to see!” a familiar female voice shouted. Of course, this belonged to Serena’s future daughter, Rini, who was dressed up in pajamas similar to Serena, only they were colored cyan. The two were pushing each other back and forth in front of the window, trying to get a closer look at the Supermoon.
“Hey! I was here first!” Serena said.
“We both have roots to the moon!” Rini said.
“I’m bigger than you!” Serena said. The two traded barbs and pushed and shoved until they started resorting to more physical means of attack, such as hair pulling and rasping with the tongue. It wasn’t until Serena’s younger brother, Sammy, stood outside Serena’s room.
“You two are so immature! Why don’t you both go outside and get the best look at this so-called Supermoon?” Sammy said. Serena and Rini looked at each other and soon realized that Sammy had a brilliant idea. There was also the matter of who would get downstairs and outside first.
“Race you downstairs!” Rini shouted.
“Hey, no fair! You cheated, you little squirt!” Serena shouted as the two girls went running out of the room and down the stairs, eventually outside the house altogether.

Naturally, with the much more wide open view, Serena and Rini had no reason to push and shove anymore and they both admired the sight and bright glow of the Supermoon.
“Wow… it’s so beautiful… wait, I said that already.” Serena said.
“This is amazing! The moon looks so big and beautiful. In fact..." Rini said.
"In fact what?" Serena asked.
"I'd like to sleep outside... underneath the bright moonlight." Rini said.
"Huh? What do think this is, a campsite?" Serena said.
"Well, yeah!” Rini said. Knowing how strong and capable Rini was despite her appearance (she was a sailor scout after all), Serena let out a smile.
“Alright, you can sleep out here. I’ll go get one of our sleeping bags.” Serena said.
“Yay! Thank you, Serena!” Rini said as she suddenly hugged her future mother. Serena just gently patted her on the head before walking back inside.
Although Ikuko, Serena’s mother, was not too comfortable at first with Rini sleeping outside all by herself, she was eventually convinced that she could handle the situation. As Serena turned out the light in her bedroom, she looked out the window at Rini tucking herself snugly into the sleeping bag.
“Good night, Rini.” Serena said.
“Good night, Serena.” Rini said as she laid flat on her back and looked up at the shining moonlight from the larger-than-usual moon, eventually letting it put her to sleep.

Hours later, at around 3 or 4 AM let’s just say, the entire neighborhood was fast asleep with nary a sound to be heard except for the occasional cricket or two. So it was no surprise that nobody in the neighborhood was saying anything about what was happening next. The supermoon suddenly had a blue glow of light surrounding it. A few seconds later, a bright beam of the same color shot down from the moon (without emitting any sounds) and was focused on Rini. Rini tossed and turned ever so slightly as the mysterious light shone down on her… and then, after about 15 more seconds, it disappeared. The blue aura around the supermoon vanished at the exact same time.

A few seconds later, Rini’s sleeping bag suddenly started to tear itself apart. It was because Rini’s body was growing bigger. The bag could not hold together any longer as it disintegrated into a mesh of threads, all while Rini, along with the pajamas she wore, continued to increase in size. As Rini tossed and turned herself into the road and away from the houses (including Serena’s), her body continued to expand and take more space of the road she was now laying on. Bigger and bigger Rini grew even as she was fast asleep, and finally the young girl’s growth spurt came to an end when she was 350 feet tall.
At the same exact time as the growth ended, Rini opened her eyes and let out a big yawn (literally if a normal-sized person were around to witness). She looked up to see the supermoon still hovering above in the night sky.
“(yawn) The supermoon still looks beautiful… wait, is it still night?” Rini said. That’s when she reached up to her stomach and felt the sleeping bag not surrounding her.
“Huh? Where’s the sleeping bag?” Rini asked. This caused her to lean up into a sitting position… and that’s when she got her first look at the now tiny neighborhood.
“Oh? Where am I?” Rini said as she slowly looked around at the tiny road she was sitting on and then the tiny houses.
“I must be dreaming of being a giant again. (yawwwn)” Rini said as she let out another big yawn and felt the need to stretch her arms out. She tried hard to open her eyes a little wider, but for some reason they wanted to stay half open and half closed.
“I feel so tired… it’s like I didn’t get enough sleep.” Rini said. The giantess then looked down and saw a car parked by one of her knees. She reached down and picked it up, looking at it from all angles.
“Teehee… nothing wrong with this kind of dream. I wish all my dreams had me being giant so I can pick up little cars like this.” Rini said. With nothing else to do with the car (not even an alarm to startle her), she started to place it back down on the ground. However, about 3 feet from the road, the car slipped from Rini’s grip and it landed hard on the pavement, causing all the windows to shatter.
“Oops… I hope that driver had insurance.” Rini said.
The young giantess then looked over to her left, where she saw the city out in the distance. It too was brightly lit thanks to its many lights both from the buildings and on the ground from the vehicles making their way around the tight roadways.
“Yeah, I better get to the city while I’m still dreaming. (yawwwn)” Rini said as she yawned again. She finally stood up on her bare feet and got walking across the many yards in the neighborhood. She couldn’t help but step on a few things along the way, causing some of the neighbors to turn on their lights and look up in shock. As one lady put it...
“Oh my god! It’s a giant girl!” the lady shouted, watching as the giant Rini slowly walked into the distance and towards the city.

Rini’s vision was still blurry from suddenly waking up, so the closer she got into the city, the more she had to shield her eyes from the bright city lights.
“Ugh… these lights are so bright.” Rini said. She rapidly blinked her eyes trying to get her vision accustomed to the lights. It took about 30 seconds, but finally her eyes were properly adjusted. This allowed her to look down and see the many people and vehicles trying to get away from her feet. She couldn’t help but giggle when she heard the many little screams. Rini still too tired so she had to keep her taunt brief.
“Teehee! Run, you little people, or Chibizilla is going to stomp you!” Rini said. Noticing a parked car in her path, Rini planted her foot down on the vehicle and crushed it flat, leaving it nothing more than a pile of broken metal, fluids, and tires rolling around. That only made the people panic even further when they saw how easily the giantess could crush something like a car.
“Wow, that was great! I hope this dream never ends.” Rini said, showing excitement despite feeling the urge to yawn again.
“Why am I yawning so much? This is a dream, right? Oh well. Dream or not, maybe something to eat will make me feel more awake.” Rini said. She slowly walked around the city trying to find a good place to get ‘breakfast,’ and because she was so focused on that, she didn’t realize she was stepping on innocent people left and right, either severely injuring them or killing them with just one step. As one man tripped over and fell on his back, he watched in horror as one of Rini’s giant feet blocked out everything else around him.
“Noooooooo!!” the man shouted before Rini planted her foot down and everything went black for the young man.

As Rini walked around, all of the restaurants or fast food places she was familiar with had their lights turned out, indicating they were closed for business.
"Ugh... too bad they haven't invented 24 hour food replicators yet." Rini said, comparing the era she was in with the one she was originally from. Just then, after turning a corner (brushing one of the nearby buildings with her hair), Rini noticed a semi truck speeding by her feet. She looked on the side of this truck and noticed paintings of jelly beans all the way across. Rini then recognized the truck belonging to the jelly beans she likes to eat from time to time.
"Oh! Jelly beans would make a perfect midnight snack. And Mommy's not here to stop me." Rini said with a smile on her face. That's when she began to chase after the truck, picking up her walking pace from what it had been before. After a minute of chasing, Rini finally caught up to the truck and picked it up with one hand. As the driver screamed seemingly forever for his life, Rini was focused more on getting that delicious candy out from the back of the vehicle. No matter how much she tried, her fingers couldn’t pry the back doors open. That’s when she turned the truck around and looked inside at the screaming driver, who immediately stopped his screaming when Rini spoke.
“Hey you, teeny tiny little driver. Open up the back so I can have all those delicious jelly beans. (yawwwn)” Rini said, letting out a yawn and giving the driver a very scary look at the inside of Rini’s mouth.
“Okay, okay! Just put me down!” the driver said. Rini did just that, gently setting the truck down and allowing the driver to get out. As soon as he did that, Rini made one more warning.
“If you try to get away, I’ll crush you into the road.” Rini said, and when the driver saw the giantess wiggling her massive toes, he knew not to kid around with this, well, giant kid. He got his tools and walked to the back of the truck, using them to unlock the doors. He opened them up and inside were boxes full of various candies, including the jelly beans that Rini adored.
“Teehee! Thank you, little guy! You can go now before I step on you.” Rini said as she lifted one of her bare feet up. The guy scrambled out of the way just before he could get stepped on, and Rini watched as he ran away into the distance. She then focused her attention back on the truck, lifting it up and looking inside the back and seeing the crates full of goodies. She didn’t want to waste any more time, especially with her hands too big to fit inside.
“Well, bottoms up!” Rini said. She tilted the back of the truck towards her mouth and simply let every last container fall into her massive mouth. It took a few seconds, but once Rini felt the last of the containers fall into her mouth, she threw the semi truck aside, letting it crash against an innocent building or two. She stuck her tongue out, lamenting over the taste of crates instead of jelly beans.
“Bleh… they taste so much better out of the box. Oh well, they were too small for me anyway.” Rini said. Once again, she felt the need to yawn again, this time stretching her arms.
“(yawwwwn) I’m still so sleepy. I gotta do something to wake me up some more… Maybe I’ll destroy some buildings.” Rini said as she walked further into the city.

True to her word, Rini’s next order of business as a giantess was destroying whatever building she set her eyes on. She was first focusing on the smaller buildings, especially the ones lower than her knees. Those buildings she took care of simply by raising her foot high in the air and crashing it down to the ground.
“Teehee! I love crushing these little buildings. It makes me feel like a giant monster!” Rini said to herself. She marveled over the tiny people going further into panic mode as they tried to dodge the raining smoke and debris. The next building, which was a little under half her size, she got creative with her destruction. She placed her legs on both sides of the building and then brought them together, squeezing the building in between until it couldn’t take the pressure anymore and fell apart. When Rini looked down at her pajamas, they were covered in gray like they had been through a dust pan. This annoyed Rini as she tried brushing some of the mess off her clothing.
“Ugh… I guess they didn’t clean that last building enough.” Rini said. After getting as much as she felt she could off, the giantess then walked in another direction.

Rini’s journey now took her to a building that she was a head taller than. She couldn’t help but look down on the roof and see a dozen people either running around, screaming they were going to be her dolls, staring up in awe over how big this girl was, or any combination of the aforementioned. Rini just smiled as she spoke with these people.
“Wow… you’re all very brave to be standing this high up the tall building… especially when I’m taller! (yawwwn)” Rini said as she yet again let out a yawn. She then looked up at the supermoon that was still hovering in the sky.
“So what do you guys think? Am I prettier than the supermoon above us?” Rini asked. Most of the people nodded furiously, not wanting to anger the giantess with a wrong opinion.
“Y’know, maybe it’s a good thing I’m this big. What if the moon decided to fall onto our planet? There’d need to be someone big and strong like me to catch it and throw it back into the sky. So you should probably be thankful I’m a giant.” Rini said with a smile. Suddenly, when she had to scratch her nose, she started to feel an uncontrollable urge to sneeze.
“Uh oh… Ah… Ah… Ahhhhhh… CHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!” Rini shouted as she sneezed all over the top of the building. All of the people could not dodge the sudden sneeze attack, and they either got pelted by Rini’s saliva or they got blown right off the structure from the resulting gust. Regardless, Rini looked to see nobody moving around on top of the building, even after she wiped her nose with her arm.
“Oops… excuse me.” Rini said. When she realized none of these people were moving much, if at all, she felt it was time to move on.
“Oh well, those people were boring anyway. Onto the next section of the city. (yawwwwn) Before I go into a double dream…” Rini said as the giantess got walking again.

Rini was back to a slow walk along the roadway, watching the tiny people run from her giant bare feet and stepping on a few of these people along the way. At the same time, the moonlight was starting to give way as the sky was no longer a pitch black. It was slowly starting to fade into a lighter shade of blue, indicating it was going to be daylight probably in another hour or two. That didn’t distract Rini, of course, who continued to toy around with everyone and everything that was smaller than her. Of course, nothing her size was safe as well, as a glass building which had several panes of glass broken by Rini’s swinging pink hair would tell you.
“Peekaboo!” Rini shouted as she hid behind this same building, peeked her head out, and then walked out from behind it to continue her stomping spree. Before she could, though, she looked down by her feet.
“Oh? What do we have here?” Rini said as she saw a couple jumping into a yellow car, which looked like one of those fancy-looking expensive convertible types that are popular of this time period.
“Oh… big mistake, you two.” Rini said as she reached down and picked up the car with two of her fingers.
“I guess you’ll be getting a ride into my stomach (yawwwwn).” Rini said. After inspecting the car, including the couple who were screaming their heads off, the giantess started to move it towards her mouth like she was going to eat it. Instead, she pulled it back and looked it over once more.
“Nah, that wouldn’t be much fun. Maybe a joyride would be perfect for you two.” Rini said. That’s when she began to think like Serena’s younger brother, Sammy, and just fling the car in every direction she could think of.
“Wheeee!” Rini said as she moved the car back and forth and up and down in the air, trying to simulate it driving around like a drunken maniac. She even drove it straight for the ground, and it looked like it was going to crash head on into the pavement, but a last minute turn canceled those plans.
“That was close! Great driving, little people!” Rini said, joking with the little people. She next planted the car against one of the nearby glass buildings, its wheels screeching against the surface and leaving behind sparks and falling shards of glass. Then she rolled it a few feet above the road, bumping the car into many people who couldn’t get out of the way in time.
“What!? Bad driving! How dare you run over those innocent people?” Rini shouted, even though she knew she was causing all these antics.
Finally, Rini felt she had played with the car for long enough, and she crashed it into one of the buildings… a bar, no less. Rini took one last look at the car before letting it go.
“And see what that gets you? Crashed into that restaurant. Oh well, enjoy your honeymoon!” Rini said as she stood back to her full height, leaving the injured and bloodied (but still alive) couple to themselves.

Despite all that, Rini once again felt the need to yawn.
“(yawwwwn) Even after all that I’m still half asleep. Some dream this is.” Rini said. As she wondered what to do next with her tiny ‘dream’ city, she suddenly heard somewhat familiar sounds of both sirens as well as a helicopter slowly growing louder with each second. It wasn’t until a bright light (and not the moonlight) was shining on her that she looked over and saw a platoon of police cars coming from the ground, with the lights coming from a couple military-looking helicopters that were fast approaching her from the air.
“Ah… one of my favorite parts, dealing with the law enforcement.” Rini said with a smile. The giantess watched as several cars rolled up to her feet. Eventually, the officers got out and pointed their guns up at the giantess. One of the officers held a megaphone to his mouth and talked up to the giantess.
“Stop! Turn around now and leave this city, or we will be forced to shoot!” the policeman shouted.
“(yawwwn) Really, are you people serious? I’m so big, you can’t even handcuff my pinky toe.” Rini said as she wiggled her toes, “But if it makes you happy, I’ll turn around and go away.”
Rini did just that and turned around and started to walk away… but she only took one step before sharply turning around and walking towards the police cars.
“Fooled ya!” Rini shouted as she lifted her foot up and crushed one of the cars flat. This prompted the officers to take immediate action as they began shooting up at the giantess, even though the bullets had no effect at all. In fact, despite the bullets bouncing off the fabric of her pajamas, Rini swiftly kicked another of the cars away like it was a soccer ball.
“This is too fun!” Rini said. In her excitement with playing with the cars, one of her pink-haired pigtails smacked the bottom of one of the helicopters, causing it to twirl around and eventually crash and explode on the ground. One thing she did still feel, however, was the missile, fired from one of the choppers, exploding on one of her arms. Although it didn’t hurt, she still felt a sting on said arm.
“Hey! Shooting while my back is turned! How rude!” Rini shouted. She quickly walked towards the chopper, clenching her right hand into a fist, and outright punched the chopper, immediately exploding it in midair.

Finally the last of the police cars were taken care of, and Rini watched as the surviving police officers (the ones she didn’t crush to death) ran off.
“Bye bye, little officers. You’re very smart to run away so I don’t crush you.” Rini said. As she looked out in the distance and saw the sun starting to peek out, she let out her longest yawn yet.
“(yawwwwwwwn) I’m still so sleepy. I guess I should get some rest, even though this is a dream world. But what am I going to lay on?” Rini said. She looked around, surveying all the damage she had done to the city, which she couldn’t help but smile over.
“Oh, what the heck? I’ll just sleep on top of this section of the city.” Rini said. She then sat down on the ground, crushing a couple buildings with her behind, and slowly laid herself flat on her back. She stretched her arms and legs out, crushing whatever was in their paths. Typically this was how she slept if she was forced to share a bed with someone, like Serena.
“(yawwwwwwn) Good night, little people. I guess I’ll be leaving you soon.” Rini said, thinking she was going to be back to her normal size the next time she woke up.

And indeed, that’s what happened.

While Rini slept, much changed. First of all, as more and more of the sun took over the sky, Rini shrunk smaller and smaller until she was all the way back to her normal size. At the same time, the city miraculously was reversing itself of all the damage that had been caused by Rini when she was huge. It was like the city was going backwards in time. Eventually, all the city was back to its original state like nothing had happened.
As for Rini herself, she woke up hearing a familiar voice calling out her name.
“Rini, wake up!” the voice said. Rini woke up to see it was Serena in her Sailor Moon outfit.
“Oh, Seren… um, I mean, Sailor Moon.” Rini said. She took Serena’s hand and Serena helped her up to her feet.
“Hey there, kiddo. Sailor Pluto said I would find you out here.” Serena said.
“Huh? Out here?” Rini said as she looked around her surroundings. She realized she was not at home, but instead deep within the city, with people and vehicles going around like business as usual.
“Huh? What am I doing in the city?” Rini asked.
“Well, let’s just say you had one heck of a sleepwalk. Y’know, like in those old cartoons where someone has to keep a sleepwalker from falling to their doom or something?” Serena said.
“I see. Well, I had a wonderful dream. I dreamed I was big again.” Rini said. Serena gulped a bit, always nervous over even the thought of a giant Rini.
“You did, eh?” Serena said.
“Yeah! It was night, but I still stomped around the city, which was lit up by the moonlight and all the neon lights. It was fun!” Rini said.
“Yeah, I’m sure you had fun. You always do.” Serena said.
“Pffft… you’re just jealous because you didn’t dream like that.” Rini said.
“Hey! What are you talking about? I’ve had dreams before where I was giant!” Serena shouted.
“Really? What happened? Did you step on any buildings?” Rini asked.
“I’ll tell you when we get home. Come on, let’s go.” Serena said as the two girls made their way back home. Rini, along the way, gave Serena every detail she could remember of the ‘dream’ she had last night.

As for how the city returned to normal? You can once again thank Sailor Pluto for that, using her powers of controlling time and space to reverse all the damage that had been done and kept Rini from being a very wanted girl once she returned to normal size. But as the sailor scout was about to discover, her time of secretly covering for Rini had run out. As Sailor Pluto started to head for the stairs that would take her off the rooftop of the building she was standing on, her trek was interrupted when a bright circular light formed in front of her. A deep male voice echoed from the other side.
“Master Chronos.” Sailor Pluto said.
“Yes, my dear protector of time and space. You know why I am here.” the voice of Chronos said. Pluto frowned and lowered her head.
“I should not have interfered with the flow of time and space. I humbly apologize, master. I will accept any punishment you deem necessary.” Pluto said.
“Yes, but I can understand your reasons. Keeping that young girl out of trouble is very noble especially given your duties of protecting her outside her mother’s presence.” Chronos said.
“That is still no excuse for my actions, master.” Pluto said.
“Indeed it doesn’t. But, I have a different kind of punishment in mind instead of resetting your memories. I think you will find it appropriate.” Chronos said. The ball of light soon disappeared. Sailor Pluto quickly wondered what he possibly meant by that.

She would find out another time and another place...
