Rini Lost: The Luna Pi Malfunction

(MasterOfRa)

It was seven in the evening. Rini sat at her desk, reading a book. It was late at night and it had been a long day at school. Thankfully, with the defeat of the Dead Moon Circus, life had returned to as normal as it had been before.

"So much homework." Rini said, "And this book is so boring. Why do we have to read Gulliver's Travels for an assignment? It has no meaning in real life does it? And what's all this about a city of little people? Although I guess that would be pretty fun. Maybe even Serena would be tiny. She would be so cute." Rini laughed softly, closing the book.

Standing up, Chibiusa walked to her bed. Changing into her pajamas, Chibiusa picked up her Luna Ball and set it on the edge of her bed. "Tomorrow is Saturday." Rini said, "That means we can have some fun tomorrow I hope." she looked at Luna Pi, "And you can get some shadeshifting practice in." She laughed. "Good night." And with that, Rini dozed off.

----------

"RINI!! WAKE UP RIGHT NOW!" Serena's voice blew through Rini's door, startling Rini awake. The sunlight shone through her window. "Rini! You can't sleep away a whole Saturday morning." Serena was still shouting, "Do you hear me?"

"I'm awake Serena." Rini said, "What is it?"

"Today is Saturday." Serena said, "You know you can't sleep on a Saturday morning. It's your only chance to have fun all week." Serena opened Rini's door and came inside.

"But you're the one who believes that." Rini said, "I don't have as much school as you do, so I should get to choose my own sleeping schedule."

"But I'm your future mother." Serena said, "And it's my duty to make sure you live a healthy lifestyle."

"Your not my mother yet!" Rini said, "Luna Ball, Kitty Magic!" Luna Pi bounced up, transforming into a water gun. "Get out of my room Serena!" Rini blasted Serena with cold water. Serena yelped and ran out of the room. Rini looked at the water gun Luna Pi had turned into. "That's right, today is the day I see what your limits are as a shape shifter."

Rini got out of bed and walked to her closet. Opening the closet door, Rini looked at her clothing choices. "Ah ha. Here's a good choice." Rini took off her pajamas and slipped into a white one piece leotard. The sleeveless outfit covered her from chest to and over her pelvis. A green jewel was set in the middle top of the outfit. Then, she put on her school uniform over the leotard. She pulled out a translucent piece of white clothe shaped like an angelfish tail, with splotches of red and orange colors, folded it, and slipped it into her backpack. She also put a pair of white arm length gloves into her backpack as part of her outfit. She pulled on a pair of white, inch tall heel shoes to match her leotard and put them on her feet. Grabbing Luna Pi, Rini walked downstairs. After eating breakfast, she walked outside onto the porch.

As Rini stood outside adjusting her shoes, Serena walked out behind her. "Hey Rini. Where are you off to?"

"I'm going out with Luna Pi today." Rini said, "I'm going to test it to see what it can and can't transform into. I've never tried that before."

"Oh, alright." Serena said, "Have fun. I'm off to have a romantic date with Darien."

Rini rolled her eyes. But then she realized it was probably a good thing since without Serena and Darien dating, she wouldn't exist. Rini walked down the street towards a nearby playground. Luna Pi wasn't exactly something to show off to the whole city, but the playground had been closed due to nearby construction. And since it was a weekend, the workers had the day off. No one would see what
was going on.

----------

As Rini approached the playground, she looked around. As she expected, no one was around. Ducking under the construction tape, Rini ran into the large wooden castle in the middle of the playground. Turning a few corners inside, Rini was soon in an enclosed inner area with only the one door she entered through. It was the perfect place. Rini took off her backpack and outer layer of clothing as the sun was very warm. Reaching into her backpack, Rini pulled out the clothe she had packed earlier. She opened up the clothe and attached it to her lower back, just above her waist. The clothe was translucent and reached down to the back of Rini's knees. Then, she pulled on the gloves as well.

Pretending she was a circus performer, Rini commanded Luna Pi.

"Ok Luna Pi." Rini said to her toy, "Let's see what you can do. Luna Ball, Kitty Magic! Umbrella!" Luna Pi bounced in the air and, in a poof of smoke, dropped into Rini's hands as a blue umbrella.

"Nice job." Rini said. Luna Pi transformed back to normal. "Now try a copy of the Imperium Silver Crystal!" POOF! An exact copy of the crystal fell into Rini's palm before soon transforming to normal.

"Impressive Luna Pi." Rini said, "You're doing great."

Rini thought for a moment. Her thoughts dwelt to her book from the previous night. "Alright, try this. Transform into a tiara that can make me bigger or smaller." Luna Pi again bounced in the air. When it came down again, a golden tiara floated softly to the ground at her feet. "Great Luna Pi." Rini said, "Now stay that way until I say otherwise." Rini bent down and picked up the tiara. It had a crescent
moon symbol on it just like her Sailor Mini Moon tiara did.

"Well Luna Pi." Rini said, "We'll have to work on your originality, but this will do just fine." Rini slipped it onto her forehead. "Alright tiara. Do your stuff. Make me bigger!"

The symbol on the tiara glowed brightly. Suddenly, it released a stream of glowing white energy that twisted it's way around Rini's body, stretching from her forehead to her feet. Rini soon felt a feeling of uncomfortability throughout her body. "Ouch. What's going on?" She looked down and noticed the sand was pulling away from her. Her feet looked smaller. Rini looked up again and noticed the wood ceiling of the room was a lot closer then before. Rini got down on her knees and placed her hand against the ceiling. But she was still definitely getting bigger. Soon, her head hit the ceiling, followed shortly by her head smashing right through the ceiling as if it were made of paper.

Rini stood up again. The wooden castle she had been inside now only reached as high as her knee. Rini lifted one foot and placed it on the ground outside the castle. But as her body continued to grow even faster, the castle broke apart as Rini's foot grew right out of it. Rini looked around. She was now eye level with the top of a nearby 10 story building, and still growing. Finally, Rini stopped growing
at around 350 feet tall, roughly equal to that of a 35 story building. Although several buildings were still taller then herself, Rini still felt very big.

"Wow." Rini said, "I guess we know that the tiara works." She looked towards the ground. The castle was demolished and lying in pieces around her foot. As her weight had increased during growth, the ground had been depressed under her shoes, causing two huge footprints in the soft playground earth.

"Alright Luna Pi, let's go back to normal now." But Luna Pi did nothing. "Luna Pi? What's wrong? Why aren't I going back to normal?" Rini reached up and pulled off the tiara, but she remained large, not returning to normal.

"Luna Pi." Rini demanded, "What's going on?" Luna Pi still didn't revert to normal. Putting the tiara back on, Rini thought to herself. "I don't recall Luna Pi ever needing batteries so it can't be that." She thought for a moment. "Wait. Could it be that Luna Pi doesn't recognize me anymore? That's what happened to Pegasus when I switched ages with Serena that one time. He couldn't find me. I bet that's
why Luna Pi won't respond to me or detach from my forehead." Rini smiled, happy she had figured it out on her own. But her smile soon disappeared. "Oh no! What am I suppose to tell Serena when she sees me like this? I can't blame this on our enemy because we have no enemy right now. Oh man, what do I do
now?" Rini held her head in her hands, trying to think. Finally, she stood up straight. "I'll just have to find her and tell her what happened. Oh, I'm going to be in so much trouble."

----------

After digging through the rubble of the castle and finding her tiny backpack with her clothes in it, Rini looked for a place on her to put it. Finding she had no pockets, Rini simply slipped it down the front of her leotard. As Rini stepped out of the playground and onto the nearby street, her footsteps thundered with each impact on the ground. The street surface was pulverized under her feet due to her
weight. But Rini stopped suddenly.

"Wait, I have no idea where Serena is right now." She recalled Serena talking about a date with Darien. "But where were they going on that date? Serena never mentioned that. I guess I'll just have to check her usual places." She looked behind her at the wreaked playground she had grown out of.

"Well, I guess she's not there. That's one location checked. Maybe she's at the arcade. She's always there."

Rini started walking down the street. But she had only taken a few steps when she had to abruptly stop her footstep to avoid crushing a police car that came around a corner. Rini watched the police car swerve, then skid past between her feet, coming to a stop a few feet behind her.

"Great." Rini said, "A policeman. Maybe he can help me." Without even thinking of her size, Rini quickly picked up the entire patrol car, cradling it in the palm of her hand. The policeman inside was frozen with shock and fear. "Hello sir." Rini said, "Maybe you can help me. I'm looking for this girl, about 4 ft 10 inches tall, yellow hair in two long pigtails down to her legs. Can't miss her. Have you seen her?"

The policeman slowly shook his head. "Sorry ma'am. I haven't seen anyone fitting that description."

"Okay. Thanks anyway sir." Rini said. She lowered the car towards the ground. Letting it go at about 10 feet off the ground, the car hit the street, bounced once, then landed again, crumpling the car's body and knocking two tires off. Chibiusa stood up to her full height again, turned, and walked down the street, disappearing behind a tall building as she rounded a corner.

Meanwhile, the officer, still inside his disabled patrol car, slowly reached for his radio. "Officer 210 to headquarters. You're never going to guess the situation we have downtown."

----------

Rini soon entered a rather busy part of the city. As she walked down the street, people scattered, trying to stay out of her way. Cars swerved to the side of the road, some crashing into objects on the sidewalk. Some people simply abandoned there cars, leaving them idling in the street. Rini was too busy trying to locate Serena that she wasn't watching where she was going. Unfortunately, as a result,
several of the abandoned vehicles in Rini's path were crushed flat under her heavy footsteps and pressed deep into the pavement in massive footprints.

When Rini finally reached the arcade, she slowly got down on her hands and knees. A few cars were crushed under her legs as Rini lowered her head towards the ground. Since the arcade was a very low level buildings, Rini had to practically rest her head on the street to look inside. She saw Andrew, the store employee and friend of Serena, behind the desk with his back turned to the door. Using her
finger, Rini tried to tap on the glass doors to get Andrew's attention but instead accidentally shattered the glass with one tap. Andrew jumped and turned around quickly, expecting a robber. Instead, Rini's enormous red eyes and face filled his vision outside where the doors had once been.

"Hi Andrew." Rini said, "How's business?"

Andrew was stunned but managed to respond. "Um, it's good. Little slow since it's still early in the day. Um, Rini, what happened to you?"

"Just an equipment malfunction." Rini replied, "Hey, have you seen Serena in there recently?"

"Serena?" Andrew said, "No, come to think of it, I haven't seen her."

"Alright." Rini said, "Thanks anyway. I'll keep looking." Rini's lifted her head up, her hair effortlessly flipping a nearby car over onto it's roof. Andrew watched Rini's feet as Rini walked away down the street.

"Wow." Andrew thought, "What has that girl been eating?"

----------

Rini walked to the intersection up the street and stopped, her feet blocking the intersection. Several cars slid to a stop, their drivers staring up at the enormous obstacle.

"So Serena's not at the arcade." Rini said, "I could've sworn she was there." She took a few steps down one of the streets before stopping again. "Where should I go next?"

A few blocks away behind Rini, several police cars and SWAT trucks were pursuing two robbers in a getaway car. Traveling at a high rate of speed, the car raced around a blind corner sharply. Their vision was filled with a wall of white that ended up being Rini's shoe. The driver pressed the brake, causing the wheels to lock. The car skidded forward, straight into the side of Rini's shoe. The hood
was completely crushed inward. The robbers, both not wearing seatbelts, were thrust forward. The driver bounced off the hood and landed on the ground, rolling close to Rini's shoe. The passenger sailed through the windshield and landed on top of Rini's foot.

Without realizing what had just happened on the ground, Rini, still thinking about where to search for Serena next, shifted her weight, slightly lifting her foot. The robber on the ground near where her foot had been rolled into her footprint, looking helplessly as Rini's foot slowly came down on top of him. He didn't even have time to scream as his body was buried under Rini's shoe. Shortly after, the
police came around the corner, their cars and vans screeching to a stop a few feet away from where Rini stood.

"Ah!" Rini said. "I know. She's always hungry. Maybe she's at the café. What was it called again? The Fruit Parlor Crown? That must be it." Rini spun on her heel, digging a large hole in the pavement, and began walking back towards the intersection, straight towards the blockade of police and SWAT vehicles. One officer pulled out a bullhorn.

"Miss! Stop where you are." The officer said, "We have some questions for you." But in his hast, the officer found the bullhorn wasn't turned up, so his voice was hardly amplified. Unfortunately, because Rini couldn't hear the officer, she continued towards the police, towering high above them. As she walked through the blockade, officers jumped and ran for their lives as Rini's shoe came down on top of a heavily armored SWAT van. A loud crunch accompanied Rini's footstep. Even the heavy armor on the vehicle couldn't save it from being grinded into submission under Rini's shoe. As Rini reached the intersection, the officer turned up the bullhorn and shouted at Rini again.

"Young lady, stop where you are!" he shouted, "We have to ask you some questions."

"I don't know anything sir." Rini said sweetly, waving over her shoulder as she turned the corner and disappeared behind some taller buildings, her footsteps reverberating around the city walls. The officer put down the bullhorn and turned towards the wreaked robbers car. "Status?"

"One of our vehicles has been squashed sir." A policeman said.

"I mean the convicts." The officer said, "Where are they and what happened to them?"

"One's alive." Another policeman said, "He's pretty banged up though. He fell off that's girl's foot while she was walking away."

"And the other one?" the officer asked, "Where is he?"

"I think he's in one of these holes." The policeman looked inside the large footprint the robber had fallen into. He cringed. "It just looks like a pile of hamburger meat in there sir."

----------

Rini continued walking down the street, heading towards the Parlor. But on her way there, Rini heard a very small voice calling her.

"Hey you." the voice said, "Big girl, down here." Rini looked onto one of the nearby roof that stood a few feet lower then herself. Standing on top of the roof, was a man dressed in torn clothes and smelling of garbage.

"Can I help you?" Rini asked.

"Yeah, I think you can." the man said, "I can use your big fat weight."

"Excuse me?!" Rini said, startled by the man's use of words.

"Yeah, you could save me a bundle of money on equipment if you came to work in my junkyard." the man said, "What do you think?"

"Would I get paid?" Rini asked.

"What are you kidding?" the man said, "That's Child Labor. I can't pay you. You aren't worth that much anyway."

Rini gritted her teeth and growled. In one swift move, Rini smashed her open palm on top of the man, denting the roof of the building and causing a large suction of the upper wall to break out in dozens of cracks. Rini removed her hand, revealing a shattered roof but the man was, amazingly, still alive. Rini turned and continued down the street.

"What a mean man." She said.

"What did I say?" the man said laughing. He was obviously drunk.

----------

Meanwhile, Serena and Darien were nowhere near the place Rini believed them to be. They were across town in Darien's apartment, watching TV.

"Hey Serena." Darien said, "How would you feel about some hot chocolate?"

"YAY!" Serena said, "You know I'd love anything with chocolate in it."

"Alright." Darien said, "Give me a moment and I'll get it."

As Darien went into the kitchen, Serena switched to the news channel.

"Oh, what's this?" Serena said to herself. On the screen, the newsroom lady, named Lisa, was talking about a disaster in the city.

"What can only be described as a giant she-monster, standing just over 300 feet tall was been spotted by dozens of witnesses in the downtown area today." Lisa said, "We have a camera crew on scene, capturing the action from ahead of the she-monster as it travels deeper into the city. Mary, are you there?"

The screen switched to a view down a street with the news van parked a few dozen feet away. In the foreground, Mary, the on-scene reporter, stood holding a microphone.

"Yes Lisa I'm her." Mary said, "But less can be said about the streets of downtown right now."

"Hey Darien!" Serena shouted, "Come quick. Looks like a new monster is in town."

"New monster?" Darien said walking back into the room, "But we don't have any enemies since we beat the Dark Moon Circus."

"Well, the news says otherwise." Serena said, "Look at this." She pointed to the TV.

"Reports are coming in that at least one person has been killed." Mary was explaining, "But it is still unclear whether the death was caused intentionally or by accident. However, authorities are not taking any chances and have called on armed forces which we are told are on their way as we speak. They have gone so far as to send a Navy battleship which is standing by in the harbor."

Suddenly, Mary felt the ground beginning to vibrate. "Hold on Lisa. It appears as something is happening down the street." The camera zoomed in on the intersection in the distance. A single police car skidded to a stop in the middle of the street. The deputy climbed out and drew his service pistol, aiming it what looked to be something in front of and above him. He began firing, shooting nearly
twenty shots before his gun jammed. A large shadow slowly fell over him.

"Oh no." Mary said, "John, I think she's here." she looked towards the cameraman, apparently the person she called John, then back towards the police car. The policeman soon ran from the intersection as a giant foot slammed down on top of his empty car. The camera angled upward as Rini came around the
corner.

"Rini?!" Serena said in total shock, "She's gigantic!"

"How could this have happened?" Darien said.

Rini was walking straight towards the camera. "Ladies and gentlemen." Mary said, "The monster appears to be very large, young, female child, not a monster. She's coming straight for us." She turned in time to watch Rini's foot crush the news van behind them flat. At the last second, both Mary and the cameraman fled from the street to the sidewalk, barely avoiding getting trampled. But the camera was dropped in the street and it's last image was a shadow falling over it then suddenly the screen changing to static.

"We appear to have lost our connection with Mary" Lisa said, "But we have a helicopter crew in the area. Are you there?"

"This is Air 4." a voice responded. The screen changed to a view from above the city. Rini could be seen walking through the maze of city streets below. "We have the girl in sight and will continue to observe from a safe distance."

"Can you give us the status of Mary's team?" Lisa asked.

"Well, let's see." Air 4 responded, "There it is." The camera zoomed in on the location. "Their van appears to have been smashed, but they are safe."

"What is Rini doing?" Serena said, "She should know better then to cause a ruckus. Especially something like this."

"Calm down Serena." Darien said, "Maybe Rini didn't cause this and maybe she's just looking for some help. I mean, she didn't even seem to notice the reporters as she was walking, so she can't have any malicious intent towards the city."

"Well anyway, we have to find her." Serena said, "Can we take your motorcycle?"

"Um, sure." Darien said. Grabbing his coat and helmet, Darien and Serena left the apartment, forgetting to turn off the TV. Air 4 continued to speak.

"It is highly advisable that anyone seeing or hearing this message get out of your cars immediately." Air 4 cautioned, "I repeat, do not operate vehicles in the vicinity of the downtown area. It is safer to stay indoors."

Just then, Serena came back in the apartment. "I have no idea what part of town Rini is in!" She said. She turned to the TV.

"Wait, what's this?" Air 4 said, "It looks as if the girl is stopping near the Fruit Parlor Crown. Hm, Lisa, do you suppose she's hungry?"

"Oh no." Serena said.

----------

As Rini walked up next to the Fruit Parlor Crown, several people eating on the tables outside quickly got up and ran for their lives as Rini's feet soon crushed the flimsy tables and chairs flat.

"Oops."Rini said, watching the people run down the street. "I'm really sorry about that." Turning her attention back towards the parlor, Rini bent down and stretched one arm to each side of the parlor's roof.

Inside, Lizzy, Andrew's sister, was working the lunch rush when she saw the customers outside run in terror as Rini's enormous feet walked up to the front of building through the large front windows. Lizzie watched Rini's ankles flex as Rini started bending down towards the parlor. Dozens of people started looking up towards the roof.

Suddenly, with a loud crash, the white gloved fingers of one of Rini's hands smashed through the windows lining one side of the parlor while her other hand burst through the kitchen wall on the other side of the parlor. Griping the roof, Rini began pulling up on the roof. Large cracks began to appear in the ceiling. The heavy ceiling tiles began to fall off, some falling on the customers at the
tables. Slowly, the roof began to separate from the support beams until finally, Rini managed to lift the entire roof off the building. Dropping it in the street nearby, Rini looked inside the parlor until she spotted Lizzie.

"Hi Lizzie." Rini said bending down for a closer look, "Got anything good to eat?"

"Rini?" Lizzie asked, "Is that you? How on earth did you get like this?"

"Um." Rini thought for a moment, "It's kinda complicated. Have you seen Serena in here?"

"Serena?" Lizzie asked, "You mean your cousin?"

Rini realized Serena wasn't her cousin but went with it anyway to hide her identity. "Yeah, that's her." she said, "She has her hair in big meatballs on her head like mine, but not nearly as cute."

"Right." Lizzie said, backing slowly into a corner, "Sorry Rini. I really can't say I've seen her."

"Really?" Rini asked, "I thought for sure she'd be here stuffing her face. Oh well. Guess I'll keep looking." She stood back up to her full height and looked down at the parlor. She waved down to Lizzie. "Thanks anyway. I'll see you later alright?"

Lizzie was too shocked to answer. She got up from the corner and ran towards the door. Stepping through the shattered storefront, Lizzie walked into the street and watched Rini walking away. As Rini turned a corner, Lizzie heard a police siren, the skidding of tires, a sickening crunch, and the siren going silent. She heard Rini speaking to someone "Gah! Sorry about that! Are you alright?"

----------

Several blocks away, Serena and Darien were racing through the streets towards the parlor on Darien's motorcycle. The road was utterly devoid of people but was instead littered with dozens of cars: some flipped over on their roofs, some crushed completely flat. One car was even precariously lying on it's side, rocking with the slightest breeze. Occasionally they came across a person or two trying to
salvage personal items from their pulverized vehicle.

"I sure hope no one was hurt when Rini came through here." Darien said.

"Do you think she stepped on these cars on purpose?" Serena asked.

"No." Darien said, "That's not like Rini. It was probably by accident or not noticing them."

"I guess you right." Serena said, "Rini will hardly even step on a harmless snail let alone a car."

"So, what are we going to do when we find her?" Darien asked, "I mean, she's not exactly small anymore. And I doubt she'll respond well to your, um, personality."

"What do you mean by that?" Serena asked.

"Well, you can be a bit loud when you get excited." Darien said, "That's the last thing we need right now."

"Don't worry. I'll be calm." Serena said, "As for what we'll do when we find her. Well, I guess I'll try to get her attention. Talking to her should clear things up."

"Try to think about that Serena." Darien said, "Your tiny vocal chords aren't going to reach her ears thirty stories up."

"Maybe not." Serena said, "Maybe I can attack her and get her attention."

"Good idea." Darien said, "And how fast can you run?"

"Huh?" Serena asked.

"I'm just saying." Darien said, "After you attack her, she's going to come after you."

"Humph." Serena said, "We'll figure it out when we find her."

----------

After accidentally stepping on another police car, Rini made certain the officer was unharmed. Luckily, the officer had jumped out of his vehicle a split second before Rini's shoe slammed down on top of it.

"Geez." Rini said, "Why are there so many cars here? It's impossible to walk anywhere without stepping on one." She looked down at the street and noticed an empty white car that had been previously abandoned in the middle of the street. Rini walked over to the small car and lightly placed the heel
of her shoe on it's roof. "Not to mention they are really flimsy." She pressed down on the car with her heel, flattening the roof and pushing the whole car into the pavement. Twisting her heel back and forth, Rini tore the vehicle to pieces before reaching down and picking up the pieces. "Just like I thought." She said, "They don't properly test these vehicles before selling them to people. I'll have
to be sure to tell Darien to be careful in his car."

----------

As Darien and Serena reached the parlor, they were greeted by not only Lizzie, but Rei, Mina, Lita, and Amy. With them were Luna, Artemis, and Diana. Serena looked at the wreaked former parlor. "What happened here?" she asked.

"Apparently your future daughter has been trying to find you." Rei said, "She broke the arcade doors earlier, then tore off the roof of this place trying to find you."

"Seems she searching your usual hangout places." Amy said, "Last we heard she was heading towards the central park."

"The park?" Darien said, "But that place will be full of people. It's always a nice place for everyone."

"Yeah?" Lita said, "Well, someone might die if she goes there now."

"Why would anyone die?" Mina asked, "Rini's not some psychotic woman bent of making every man in town suffer is she?"

Everyone looked at Mina, a little confused by what she had said. "What are you talking about Mina?" Lita asked.

"Oh come on!" Mina said, "Haven't any of you watched 'Attack of the 5o ft Woman'? The girl gets turned into a giant by aliens and kills her boyfriend because he was cheating on her then she goes after all men in the city."

"Guess I missed that movie." Serena said.

"It's a classic." Mina said.

----------

Rini dropped the pieces of the car she had smashed and proceeded down the street.

"Where else would Serena hang out at?" Rini said, "This is getting kinda frustrating. Why can't I find her? She's not at her usual places." She suddenly got a scary thought. "Oh no! I hope I didn't step on her." Placing her hand on a nearby building to steady herself, Rini checked the soles of both her shoes. She notice a tiny red stain on her left shoe sole. It had been caused when she placed her foot of top of the robber while shifting her weight earlier, squishing him. But she didn't know it because she hadn't even felt him underfoot.

Rini's eyes grew wide. "Oh dear! I squished someone! How terrible!" She thought for a minute. "I guess it wasn't Serena or Darien though. Otherwise I'd cease to exist. But I still had better be a bit more careful." She carefully placed her foot back on the ground.

----------

"So, does anyone have any other ideas?" Rei asked, "Amy. You’re the brains here. What do you think?"

"Well." Amy said, "Because we're still small, I doubt she could hear us if we shouted at her. Even if we were at her feet, I still don't think she could hear. Our best bet at getting her attention is to get up to her level."

"How?" Lita asked, "A building?"

"That might work." Amy said, "The problem is getting Rini to reach the building we are on."

"I think Serena can fix that problem." Luna said.

"Excuse me?!" Serena said, "How?!"

"Easy." Artemis said, "Use the disguise pen to become one of the creeps you fought in the past, then attack Rini and get her to chase you. You can lead her right to us."

"Yeah right." Serena said, "And risk getting squashed? I don't think so. One of her strides is equal to a hundred on mine. She'd catch me too quickly."

"To bad Amara is gone." Amy said, "She was the fastest runner around."

"Don't forget." Mina said, "There's no guarantee she'd hear us. We have to make sure our plan is going to work because if it doesn't, somebody could die here."

----------

"I really don't know where else Serena hangs out at." Rini said, walking towards the central park area, "I know the park is a popular place. If she's not there, where else can I go?"

As Rini walked around a corner, she saw the trees and lake of the park in the distance.

"There it is." Rini said. She slowly walked towards the park, several people trying to stay out of her way.

----------

Serena was getting impatient. "While we stand here, Rini's endangering other people's lives! We have to come up with a plan."

"I got it!" Amy said, "Serena, use the power of the Imperium Silver Crystal. Maybe it can help."

"Yeah." Lita chimed in, "It gave you the power to defeat Wiseman. I bet it can help here too."

"Alright, I'll give it a shot." Serena said. She opened her brooch, which contained the crystal, a held it in her hands in front of her. Closing her eyes, Serena thought of what she wished the crystal to do. "Please crystal. Give me the power to help Rini." The crystal glowed brightly. Serena's school uniform and shoes were dissolved quickly and in their place, the flowing white dress and white high-
heels of Princess Serenity appeared. Serenity opened her eyes just in time to be blinded by a furious flash of light from the crystal that enveloped her entire body from view. Serenity let out a quick yelp as her view was blurred and distorted.

----------

As Rini reached the park, she saw it was extremely crowded. Whole families occupied most of the hills and open grounds. But as Rini approached, most of the tiny people got up and ran for their lives, not knowing Rini's intentions were not to hurt anyone, but to find her mother. Rini very slowly walked through the park, her feet occasionally knocking over trees and breaking park equipment such as
benches and tables. Finally, she called out.

"Serena! Are you here?!" Rini looked around. There was no response except the faint screams of tiny people running around her feet and between her legs trying to get away, some even crouching beneath Rini's raised heels to get past her. Rini shouted again, even louder.

"SERENA!! WHERE ARE YOU?!!" Rini shuddered as every window in a nearby building facing her shattered, raining glass on the street below. "Sorry! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean it!" Rini said, covering her mouth with her hands. Rini turned to leave the park. As she stepped back onto the street, she noticed something out of the corner of her eye.

Out in the distance, nearly hidden by several taller buildings, was the bay. In the bay, Rini say a very large, grey ship. Rini noticed a pair of large objects rotating on the ship in her direction, as if the ship was aiming at her. Rini then noticed a column of tanks, armored vehicles, and army jeeps rolling down the street towards her, accompanied by a few police cars.

One tank bravely drove right up to Rini's foot. Rini bent down, bringing her eye almost down the barrel of the tank's main gun. "Can I help you with something?" She asked. Slowly, the hatch on the top of the tank opened. A soldier, apparently a general, climbed out and faced Rini.

"Young lady." the general stated, "I have been ordered to take you in."

"Take me in?" Rini asked, puzzled, "In what?"

"No little girl." the general said, "Your under arrest."

"For what?" Rini asked.

"Destruction of public property." the general said, "Jaywalking, and public endangerment. Surrender or we will be forced to use force."

"Are you joking?" Rini asked, "I've done nothing wrong. I'm just trying to find my . . . "

Rini's words were cut off as one of the other tanks opened fire, striking Rini on her right cheek. Rini let out a short cry of pain before realizing the blast didn't really hurt all that much. Rini heard more shots ring out. She quickly stood back up to her full height. She looked down at the general in the tank, who was talking on his radio ordering everyone to begin shooting.

"I'm sorry sir." Rini said, "But I must act in self defense now." Lifting her foot, Rini drew her right foot back behind her.

----------

As Serenity's eyes began to return and the light began to fade, her view of the city changed dramatically.

"Whoa!" Serenity heard Mina's voice. "What happened to her?"

"She's enormous!" Rei said, "She really let herself go."

"You better not be calling me fat." Serenity said, "I haven't eaten more then I usually do."

"Serena." Rei said, "Take a good look at yourself."

As Serenity looked around, she noticed a car that had escaped Rini's visit parked nearby. "Oh my." She said, reaching out and picking up the vehicle, "What a cute toy car. It's so adorable. But it looks just like . . . " She stopped short and looked down. ". . a real car?"

Princess Serenity now stood nearly 480 feet tall. She was roughly the size of a 45 story building, much taller then Rini.

"WHAT HAPPENED TO ME?" Serenity said, standing up to her full height. She looked at the tiny girls at her feet. Lowering her hand to the ground, she allowed Darien and the girls to climb on before she lifted her hand back up to her chest.

"It appears the crystal gave you the power to help Rini." Darien said.

"But not this way." Serenity said, "I'll do as much damage as Rini did."

"If not more." Rei said under her breath.

Serenity looked at Rei. "What was that?!"

"Serena! Pay attention!" Luna shouted, "The crystal's energy will only work for a few minutes because of the amount of energy it takes to make you that big. So you'd better hurry and do whatever you planned to do."

"Right!" Serenity said, "Here I go!" Serenity took one step forward, her high heel shoe unintentionally flattening a row of small houses nearby. As the unoccupied houses splintered to pieces, Rei held her head in her hands and sighed.

"We're so doomed." she said.

----------

Rini's foot slammed into the lead tank just as the general and crew managed to clamber out. The tank skidded backwards across the road, crashing into two more tanks at the main line, causing all three of them to explode violently. Large trucks behind the tanks revealed their cargo to be missiles, and began firing at Rini. Rini dodged most of them. She even managed to catch one of the missiles as it flew past her, turning it around and letting it fly right back at the military vehicles.

Rini began to slowly walk down the street, as the military continued to fire on her. Rini watched as Apache gunships flew down between the buildings, rattling her body with machine gun fire. But most of the bullets simply bounced off her tough skin. But a few missiles from the helicopters caused her to be knocked off balance. Her foot crushed a nearby tank as Rini steadied herself.

Reaching out with her hand, Rini managed to catch one of the helicopters, gripping it by the underside of it's body structure. Effortlessly, Rini brought the aircraft in front of her face. She listened as the pilot increased the speed of the aircraft's rotors as he tried to escape her grip. Rini took her other hand and intentionally slipped her finger into the path of the spinning blades, shattering the rotors easily. She glared into the cockpit where the pilot sat.

"I said to leave me alone!" Rini shouted at the pilot, "Why don't you guys understand that?" She was answered by another tank that drove up to her and fired, hitting her in the upper leg. Rini glared down at the tank and let go of the helicopter, allowing it to plummet to the ground, landing on the tank and exploding. Rini walked forward again, trying to advance through the army and out of range.

----------

Meanwhile, Serenity could actually see Rini fighting the army, but was too far away to do anything to help. Behind her, Darien was following on his motorcycle, dodging left and right to avoid falling in Serenity's large footprints. Luna, Artemis, and Diana where in a basket attached to the back of the bike. Luna was mentally calculating how much Serena had left before the crystal would deactivate and
shrink Serena again. But Serenity was having a tough time walking. As Princess Serenity, her dress wasn't exactly made for walking between large objects and it kept getting caught on buildings, delaying her progress.

Finally, as Serenity got a little closer to where Rini was, she felt something strange inside her. Then, she heard Luna shouting.

"Serena!" Luna said, "Hurry! The crystal is almost out of power!"

Serenity managed to turn a corner, putting her on the same street as Rini. She was only 2000 feet away when Luna shouted again.

"Careful Serena!" Luna shouted again, "The crystal is. . ." Serenity was blinded again by another flash of light. When she could see again, she was still above the buildings, but was falling rapidly towards the ground.

"Out of power!" Luna completed her sentence. Darien managed to get below Serena and held out his arms to catch Serena. He caught her, but Serena's weight caused both of them to crash to the ground. Serena immediately jumped up again.

"That's it?!" she said, "Talk about a useless crystal."

"You used up it's power." Artemis said, "It's not the crystal's fault. Wait! Where are you going?!"Serena was running towards Rini. She yelled over her shoulder. "I'm going to stop Rini, no matter what size I am."

----------

By now, Rini was more frustrated then scared.

"That's it." Rini said, "No more nice giantess. Try facing a giant Sailor Soldier." She reached for her chest where her brooch to transform into Super Sailor Mini Moon was suppose to be, but instead only found the green jewel that decorated the front of her outfit.

"Uh Oh." Rini remembered her brooch was attached to her uniform which was still normal sized inside her backpack which was now inside her outfit. Rini began to get scared again as she saw more armored vehicles and helicopters approaching down the street and she began retreating, walking backwards deeper into the city.

----------

As Rini was cautiously backing up, she didn't notice Serena climbing up onto an abandoned car behind her.

"Hey Rini!" Serena shouted, "I'm right here! Stop wreaking everything!" However, it was as Amy had feared and explained. Rini just couldn't hear Serena, especially with all the commotion in the area. er voice, thought usually loud and obnoxious, was now too soft for Rini's ears to pick up. Serena watched as Rini backed towards her, her foot rising over the car Serena was standing on.

Serena looked up at Rini's foot and screamed. "No Rini! If you squish me, you won't exist in the future!" But Rini still didn't hear her. Serena jumped for her life just as Rini's foot crashed down on top of the car. Serena looked back as the street burst into a spiderweb of cracks originating from Rini's foot. She watched as Rini continued walking backwards, trying to get away.

----------

As Rini backed up, she reached a T-shaped intersection with a railroad crossing just a few feet down one of the side roads and a row of buildings behind her. Rini noticed a passenger train that was stopped, apparently due to her "rampage" as she had heard the soldiers mention. Soon however, Rini was backed up against the row of buildings behind her. She heard the glass windows breaking as she pressed up against the building, watching the army moving closer.

"Oh no." Rini said, holding a hand to her mouth, "What now?" Rini thought about what to do. Finally, she quickly reached over and closed her hand around the engine of the train and lifted it off the ground. Several train cars, still attached to the engine, went alone with it, dangling from Rini's hand like a rope. Rini prayed the train was unoccupied and, with all her might, she threw it at the advancing army vehicles.

The train spread out as it sailed through the air. It landed in front of the army and slid down the street, pushing military vehicles and anything else in it's way down the street. Sparks lite up the street. Rini seized the opportunity and got down on her hands and knees and actually began crawling down the street around the corner. The buildings just barely hid her as she was still rather tall on her hands and knees.

----------

Serena had somehow managed to get to the side of the road as the train came hurtling towards her. She watched it slid down the street, coming to rest several feet away. It blocked the entire road and disabled dozens of vehicles. Surprisingly, people began climbing out of the train cars, alive but obviously injured.

Serena looked back towards the intersection Rini had ben standing in. To her surprise, Rini was gone, leaving only an imprint of her body in the buildings where she had pressed her body into them in an effort to escape.

"Cleaver kid." Serena said, "But where did she go now?" She started running back towards the intersection, trying to figure out which way Rini had gone.

----------

"I can't believe this is working." Rini thought to herself, as she continued crawling down the street, "If I can just make it to the bay, I can swim out of her and get out of the city. Maybe then I won't hurt anybody else."

Although she was hidden, it was still more difficult for Rini to move around on all fours, making her progress slower. Also, she couldn’t avoid damaging people's property. As such, several objects got caught under Rini's hands and legs as she crawled. Luckily, it appeared that this section of the city had been previously evacuated so there was no danger of people getting hurt. Unfortunately, Rini's bare legs and hands did occasionally get poked by pieces of metal from several cars that people had abandoned in the streets, thus forcing her to crawl over them, crushing them in the process. Luckily, they were all empty.

Rini turned a corner, still crawling on all fours. She looked down the street and once again sighted the clear blue water of the bay. Slowly, she began crawling towards it. But as she did, three fully armed helicopters slowly crossed over the street in front of her, flying just barely above the rooftops. Rini could easily see the pilots inside.

"Oh please." Rini thought, "Don't let them see me." She stayed very still trying to get even lower to the ground. Unfortunately, Rini watched as one of the pilots slowly turned his head in her direction. As he spotted Rini, the pilot's head seemed to bounce backwards, obviously shocked at how close she was to him. Whipping the helicopter in Rini's direction, the pilot fired a pair of rockets towards her.

----------

As Serena continued trying to find Rini, she was suddenly startled by a large explosion nearly two streets away. She turned and looked in the direction of the blast and noticed three helicopters hovering over the street, facing a wall of smoke where they had fired.

"Are they really shooting at Rini?" Serena said, "They can't do that. She's done nothing wrong." She started making her way to the site, when she saw Rini start to stand up again. But she continued running as fast as she could towards the bay, sensing Rini might try to go there, or at least to get ahead of Rini.

----------

As Rini stood up, she noticed nearly a dozen small jeeps racing around corners, converging on her position. Each jeep sported a large machine gun on the back, manned by a single soldier while another soldier drove the vehicle. Behind them, slower moving tanks also were heading her way in an effort to cut her off from the bay. Rini looked towards her feet. Several soldiers on foot had actually climbed
on top of her shoes and begun trying to climb up her bare leg.

"EEKKK!!" Rini screamed. "Get off me!!" She raised her leg and shook it violently back and forth, flinging soldiers in every direction. But a few soldier still managed to hold of. Finally, Rini slammed her foot back on the ground, causing the remaining soldiers to tumble off her leg, bouncing off her shoe before landing on the street below.

"I've had enough." Rini said, "Get out of my way!" She raised her foot over the closest jeep, threatening to step on it. The two soldiers seemed to get the idea, and abandoned their vehicles. Once they were clear, Rini lowered her foot, squashing the jeep like it was made of paper. But instead of staying and fighting, Rini had a different idea. Placing her feet together and bending her knees, Rini
took a deep breath.

"Here goes nothing!" Rini said as she jumped into the sky, easily clearing the line of army tanks and landing behind them in the street. Her landing caused a minor earthquake and knocked over a few small buildings nearby. Other buildings that survived were riddled with large cracks. Her feet sank nearly 30 feet into the ground as the road gave way beneath her. Rini's feet burst through the ceiling of a subway station below, crushing one of the trains. Rini stepped out of the cavernous hole in the street and began running down the street towards the bay.

----------

Meanwhile, the same general who had confronted Rini earlier, had escaped the battle and driven a jeep quickly to get to the waterfront. He now commanded a large force of tanks, missile launchers, soldiers, and even had the support of the large battleship that had been mentioned earlier on the news.

Now he watched as the enormous girl came running down the hill, her feet crushing his army into the ground with each stomp. Shouting into his radio, he ordered every gun to bear on Rini, even the ship. As Rini approached, she was riddled with weapons of all kinds, ranging from soldiers gunshots, to tank
shells, to even the ship's cannons, which thankfully were very inaccurate.
But Rini didn't stop. Although she was a large target, the attacks weren't doing much to her. However, the army was still persistent. One helicopter couldn't get out of the way fast enough. Rini's body collided with the helicopter, causing it to explode against her chest and break into several pieces and falling to the ground behind her. Although Rini was apparently unhurt, the collision left a charred black spot on her leotard.

----------

Serena managed to reach the shoreline where the army had gathered and were now shooting in her direction as she approached. Serena ignored her own safety, and jumped up onto the tank the general was in. She began shouting at the general.

"Why are you shooting at her?" Serena shouted over the roar of the guns, "She's just a little girl!"

"She doesn't look that little to me." The general answered, "Listen young lady, that girl crushed
several of my tanks. That's a hostile act. I have to take her down."

"But your men fired first didn't they?" Serena said, "Of course she attacked your men, it's self defense! She's trying to escape." She grabbed onto the general's collar. "She's my cousin for crying out loud." Of course, Rini was her future daughter, but Serena couldn't tell anyone that, she was too young for children, especially at Rini's age.

"Well." the general said, "Young lady! I suggest you remove your hands from me, or I'll. . . " He was cut off as Rini reached the shore, still in full sprint.

----------

As Rini reached the edge of the bay, she quickly glimpsed dozens of gun barrels that were tracking her movements. She quickly looked ahead, noticing the large battleship was in front of her a short ways out in the bay. Without hesitating, Rini planted her feet at the water's edge, and leapt high in the air over the water. As she reached the top of her jump, Rini arched her back, pointed her fingers
forward, and dove towards the water. But something caught her by surprise.

As if in slow motion, Rini watched the rear gun turret of the battleship follow her down towards the water. As Rini's arms and head entered the water, she heard a loud explosion and immediately felt a stinging pain in her left ankle. She tried to cry out in pain, but being underwater, she only lost the air in her lungs. Instead of diving towards the bottom of the bay, Rini floundered in the shallows. She saw blood trickling from her ankle. She struggled towards the surface.

----------

"No!!" Serena screamed. She watched the battleship gun fire, nearly point blank range, into Rini's ankle. "Rini! Please be alright!"

"Nice work everyone." the general stated, "She's not coming back up now." But he stopped when he saw a surge of water being forced upwards near the battleship.

----------

Rini's head forcefully burst through the surface of the water, directly next to the ship. The resulting wall of water, quickly capsized the ship, causing it to roll over completely. Rini opened her mouth and gasped in air, since she had lost her air underwater. She reached down and felt her ankle. There was an open cut and she still felt blood leaking into the water.

Her first thought was a bit redundant. "I hope there aren't any sharks around." She thought. In the confusion of Rini's abrupt surfacing, the army seemed too stunned to attack her. Rini took the opportunity to dive underwater again and swim away, although her swimming was slowed due to her ankle.

----------

The general soon snapped back to attention. He shouted into his radio. "What is everyone doing standing around?! Begin the rescue of those sailors. Start searching for the girl! Comb the bay!"

Serena, sure her daughter had escaped, began walking back towards the city. She had to find Darien and the other girls and figure out what to do next. Rini was still out there. All she had to do was find her.

Nearly an hour later, as it started to get dark, Rini resurfaced from the water. She had found a deep river leading inland away from the city. As she stepped out of the river, her outfit drenched with water, she soon had to sit down due to her ankle hurting. The bleeding had stopped, but her ankle still hurt like crazy. As she crawled across a field, Rini soon found a forest with trees that were tall enough to hide her body if she lay on the ground.

Snuggling up among and under the trees, Rini began to realize what had happened. "What am I going to do?" Rini said, "Luna Pi still doesn't recognize me and I have no idea how to get back to normal. Will I ever see her again?" As dusk turned to night, Chibiusa soon started to cry, her tears forming a new, although small, river leading out of the forest. "This stinks!" Rini said through tears, "I don't
like this! I want to be normal again."

As she was crying, she didn't notice her tiara beginning to light up. As she continued to cry, Rini suddenly began getting smaller, until soon, she was back to normal size. Only when Luna Pi reverted back to it's regular shape in a flash of light, did Rini stop crying and instead look around, puzzled. She saw her backpack lying nearby, and it looked regular sized to her. She looked at herself, she was
back to normal as well. She was now lying in a large crater that was her body's giant outline before she had shrunk to regular size.

"Hooray!" Rini shouted, "I'm little again!" She looked at Luna Pi. "But why did you suddenly obey me?" Her thoughts were cut off as a she heard a helicopter approaching. She looked up towards the night sky. The trees started to rustle as a strong wind blew down on her. Suddenly, Rini was blinded by a bright beam of light. She heard a voice over a loudspeaker.

"Little girl!" the voice spoke, "Do not attempt to flee. You are under arrest!" Rini realized it was a police helicopter hovering directly over her. She watched ropes drop from the sides of the helicopter and four SWAT officers slid down the ropes to the ground. After landing, each officer pointed a gun at Rini's face. Rini was scared beyond anything she had felt before. But she followed the officer's orders to put her hands behind her back. She was then handcuffed, and placed in the helicopter to be flown back to the city, along with her backpack and Luna Pi as evidence. During the trip, Rini softly cried to herself, tears slowly running down her cheeks. One of the officers, seeing her cry, pulled out a clothe and wiped her face, but said nothing.

----------

Serena had now been reunited with Darien and the girls. They were at Darien's apartment, trying to figure out what to do.

"So what do we do now?" Lita asked, "Rini could be anywhere after swimming off like that."

"What made the army do that to her?" Rei asked, "She's just a lost little girl."

"But she did cause a lot of damage." Amy pointed out.

"Yeah, but it's not like she did that on purpose." Rei said, "She was trying to find her mother."

"Trying telling that to the army." Lita said.

"If you recall, I did try to tell them." Serena said, "Something is wrong with that general I talked to. He needs to go back to training camp."

"Now just calm down everyone." Darien said, "Let's think rationally. What's the first thing Rini would do to . . "

He was cut off by the phone ringing. Serena was the first to reach the phone and answer it.

"Hello?" she said, "This is she. . . She's where?! . . . I'll be over right away!" She hung up the phone.

"Who was that?" Mina asked.

"The Chief of Police." Serena said, "Rini's in jail."

----------

Rini now sat on a cold metal bench, surrounded on all four sides by metal bars. She was still in her leotard outfit, meaning the bench was colder than usual to sit on. She pulled the "tail" of her outfit under her to lessen the cold feeling of sitting on the bench, but it didn't help much. Rini looked down at her ankle. It was now bandaged up, but it was still rather sore.

Outside, Rini noticed the same SWAT officer from the helicopter standing nearby, guarding Rini's cell. Rini stood up and walked to the edge of the cell, her heels clicking on the cement floor.

"Excuse me." Rini asked the officer, "What's going to happen now?" The officer remained silent, not even looking in her direction. Rini lowered her gaze to the floor. "I guess I deserve the silent treatment afte what I've done." She turned around and slowly walked back towards the bench, not noticing the officer's head slowly look back in her direction.

A few minutes later, Serena burst through the door, nearly in tears. Rini ran up to the bars, trying to hug Serena through the bars, with little success.

"I came as soon as I heard." Serena said, "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine." Rini said, "I was trying to find you all day."

----------

After a heartfelt reunion, Rini was lead to another room, still in handcuffs, where she awaited her "sentence", letting her know if she was free to leave or if she would be go to the prison. The officer from the helicopter was back. Pulling off his helmet, he sat down and looked over the table at Rini.

"I've been watching you missy." the officer said, "You don't seem like the type to go around breaking things for amusement." Rini shook her head. "I thought so. That's why I'm releasing you into the custody of your parents." He spoke on his radio and a few seconds later, Serena and Darien entered the room. The officer was a little surprised. "These are your parents? Aren't they a little young?"

Rini said nothing. Serena spoke up. "She actually my cousin. Our parents are out of town and she's my responsibility."

Oh. The officer said, "I understand. Babysitting right?"

Serena laughed. "That's right."

The officer unlocked Rini handcuffs and handed Rini her backpack and Luna Ball toy. "Don't worry about a thing missy. I'll ensure your name is cleared of this incident. I am the assistant police chief after all."

Rini was shocked. "You are? What were you doing on the helicopter that picked me up?"

"Investigating." The officer said, "That general who attacked you described you in a rather unpleasant way. I'll see that he gets demoted for that." He lead Rini, Serena and Darien to the entrance and showed them outside. "Have a nice day now."

----------

It was only now that Rini had a chance to see the damage she had caused to the city. Ironically, right outside the police station entrance lay one of Rini's giant footprints. And inside it was a very flat police car, the equipment inside now crushed and strewn across the ground. Rini's face went red with embarrassment. She was very quiet on the ride back home in Darien's car. Upon arriving back home, Rini quickly ran up to her room and crawled into bed without talking to anyone. She was too embarassed to speak to anyone

----------

The following day, the girls all meet at Rei's temple. Rini was back in her regular clothes. Amy was browsing the news on the internet on her laptop computer when she spoke up.

"Listen to this girls." Amy said, "It looks as if Rini's name has been completely cleared on yesterday's incident. However, she did still cause a lot of damage but the city is paying for the repairs."

"Are their any statistics Amy?" Mini asked.

"What do you mean Mina?" Rei asked.

"You know what I mean." Mina said, "Like how much damage was caused, how many people died, stuff like that." Nearby, Rini turned red in the face again.

"Let's see." Amy said, scrolling down on the web site, "It looks like only 1 confirmed death was reported. Who knows how many people died when Rini capsized that ship and wreaked the army vehicles."

"On my way here today, I noticed they are already fixing the streets." Lita said, "But they had to use these large cranes to dislodge the vehicles crushed into the street. They even had a bulldozer scrapping the remains of a crushed car off the ground. It was pretty cool. Not to mention the damage to the buildings. One building needed over a hundred windows replaced. It was pretty impressive."

"Yeah." Mina said, "And I've seen emergency vehicles everywhere. Rini, you should get bigger more often."

"No way!" Rini said, "Unless I can control Luna Pi, I won't be doing that ever again."

"That reminds me Rini." Serena said, "How did you get small again?"

"I don't know." Rini said, "I just remember crying in the forest. The next time I opened my eyes, I was little again."

"I have a theory." Amy said, "Since Luna Pi is a toy designed just for a person your size, when you got bigger, it didn't recognize you, and so, it stopped obeying you. However, when you started crying, it reminded Luna Pi of you when you were younger, so it transformed you back to normal size."

"That makes sense." Rini said, "The same thing happened to me and Pegasus that one time. When I got older, he didn't recognize me."

"Oh well, it over now." Serena said, "But tell me Rini. Was it fun?"

Rini smiled. "Yeah, it was really fun to be tall for once. And, to be completely honest, it was pretty fun exploring the city at that size. But I'm just sorry I hurt so many people."

"Don't be too hard on yourself Rini." Amy said, "According to this web site, the person you squished was an international jewelry thief. I think you did the country a good thing, even if you didn't
know it."

Rini was a bit confused. "So, by squishing him, I did a god thing?"

"Sounds like it." Serena said, "Now, do you suppose I could borrow Luna Pi for a while?"

"What?! No way!" Rini shouted, "Luna Pi is mine. Besides, you'd just use it to get closer to MY Darien!"

"What?! Your Darien?!" Serena said, "He's mine! He's destined to marry me!"

"Not if I get big again and step on you." Rini said, "Then he'd be all mine."

"Without me, you may not ever exist!" Serena said, "How about that, tough kid?"

Rini laughed. "It's worth the risk!" Everyone else laughed, except Serena, who was filled with rage.

----------

In the days to follow, the city would eventually return to it's usual routine. But no one ever forgot the giant girl with the pink hair who just wanted to find her mother.
